TOTAL
DISTORTION GAME
TIPS
Nobody ever said the life of the adventurous music video director is an easy one.
We warned you about that on the box. If you thought it was all just one big
fun-filled glamorous life served on a silver platter, you thought wrong! Life
can be rough in the dangerous Distortion Dimension! But don't give up
yet! With
the help of a few friendly hints, there might still be hope for you.
Guidelines from Mr. Red
We have spoken in private with a government official (who refuses to give his
true name) who has had some contact with an IDMC dimensionaut. We asked him what
advice he had for those thinking of going there, and he only agreed to give us
his list of guidelines for new recruits:
- Proper diet and good nutrition are keys to health.
- Get plenty of sleep to fight mental fatigue & maintain sanity.
- Learn how to operate all your equipment efficiently.
- Good rest is yours - in a clean and comfortable bed.
- Regular book study develops knowledge and wisdom.
- Always be prepared. Expeditions require careful preparation.
- Remember you're in a foreign land.
- Stand up to bullies.
- The farther you travel, the harder it is to get back home.
- Explore carefully, but realize that you've got to fight for survival if
your
mission is to succeed.
TV Producers and Business Consultants Say...
We╣ve interviewed a few of the hottest TV producers in the music video field, a
few business consultants, and university professors. They generally agreed on the
tips below:
- Stock footage will never make any real money. You need fresh material.
- Remember, it takes money to make money.
- If at first you don't succeed, then try it a different way.
- Get in tune with your equipment. Master it. Don't be afraid to
press buttons.
- Work hard, but don't forget to stop and smell the roses.
- Be considerate of others, especially your customers.
- Read the trades.
- Develop your own musical tastes by taking up guitar.
- Observe patterns and trends carefully, and react accordingly.
- Don't ever give up. Remember, good things take time.
- Turn it up.
Many of these rules seem to apply no matter what dimension you go to. Even
though the various dimensions may be uniquely different, just remember that
they're all connected and reflect each other somehow or other.
